Thaligai Pulikaichal has the perfect blend of spicy and tangy flavours. It is quick to prepare and makes a hearty meal that takes you back to the flavours of your favourite temple prasadam.
Ingredients: Tamarind Paste, Curry Leaves, Red Chilies, Peanut, Cashew, Bengal Gram, Black Gram, Coriander Seeds, Sesame Seeds, Gingelly Oil, Turmeric Powder, Chilli Powder, Salt, Asafetida, Mustard Seeds

Cooking Directions (serves 4)
Step 1: In a large vessel, add 2 cups cooked rice that has been boiled using slightly less water than normal so the rice stays loose.
Step 2: Add 1 tbsp gingelly oil to the cooked rice and mix well. Allow it to cool. Add 2 tbsp of Thaligai Puli Kachal and mix with the rice carefully so that it has blended in without mashing it. Cover and keep aside for 5-10 minutes so that the rice absorbs the flavor and taste.
Step 3: Serve with vadams or vathal of your choice.
TIP: You can serve puli kachal as an accompaniment with curd rice or roti.
