Karuvepilai podi prepared using traditional heirloom recipe. Best enjoyed on its own with hot ghee rice but can also be added to curries and vegetables.


Serving Directions (serves 4)

To four cups of hot cooked rice, add 4 tsp of ghee and 4 tbsp of Thaligai Karuvepilai Podi. Serve hot with vegetables or roasted appalam.

TIP:  With Thaligai Karuvepilai  Podi, you can make a quick karuvepilai kuzhambhu. To 4 tbsp of  Karuvepilai podi add 2 cups  water and 3 tablespoon tamarind paste. Mix well boil for 2-3 minutes. Add salt if needed. Serve with cooked rice ghee and paruppu thugayal

Extra TIP: Once regular sambar has been made, garnish with 1 tsp karuvepilai  podi for extra flavor.
