Desiccated coconut and spice blend. Best enjoyed on its own with hot ghee rice but can also be added to curries and vegetables.

Ingredients: Desiccated Coconut, Black Gram, Bengal Gram, Mustard Seeds, Red Chilli, Salt, Vegetable Oil, Asafoetida

 

TRADITIONAL THENGAI PODI SAADHAM

Serving Directions (serves 4)

To four cups of hot cooked rice, add 4 tsp of ghee and 4 tbsp of Thaligai Thengai Podi. Serve hot with vegetables or roasted appalam.

TIP:  With Thaligai Thengai Podi, you can make a quick thengai thuvaiyal. To 4 tbsp of thengai podi add 4-5 tbsp of hot water. Mix well or grind in the mixer for for a smoother consistency. Serve with cooked rice or idly/dosa

Extra TIP: Once regular sambar has been made, garnish with 1 tsp roasted thengai podi for extra flavor.
